Peggy Martin Rose
Where?
When?
Spring and Fall
Peggy Martin rose will bloom in the springtime around Mardi Gras. This bloom will last 3 to 6 weeks, until the heat of summer starts to approach.

In the fall, there is another 3 to 6 week bloom around Thanksgiving.

During the winter month, the Peggy Martin Rose will look dead- but don't worry! She will return in the spring with big bright pink blooms.
What?
The Peggy Martin Rose is named after a New Orleans gardener who evacuated her home during Hurricane Katrina. WhenPeggy returned home, one of the only plants that remained in her garden was this variety of rose. It had been submerged under 20 feet of salt water for two weeks and was the only rose that survived. Read more about the Peggy Martin Rose story here.
